COVID-19 Has Forever Changed The Way We Do Business

The coronavirus, as we’ve all heard, has forever changed the way we do business. The way we communicate, the way we meet, the way we network – all changed. What has not changed is the need to communicate effectively and the power of communities of interest to help advance a cause and build influence.

While the events of the summer continue to rightfully dominate the headlines, companies and their executives should take time now to reassess both their business and their specific communities of interest. Not only how your business has changed, but how has the business of your customer, your partners and the larger public changed?  What about the influencers in your market? How have their perspective and interests changed?

Now is the time to not only update your messaging to prepare for the “new reality” (or what I prefer to call 2021 and beyond), but also to pivot your marketing plan. With the thought of in-person events now a distant memory, all of your marketing efforts likely have migrated to digital. But if your communities of interest and your associated messaging have changed, your marketing plan needs to do the same.

As an executive, you need to rethink your personal platform in the wake of the health and social injustice crises. What are you doing as an individual that can contribute to the public good while at the same time supporting your company?

It is said that successful people rarely dine alone. Never has a fresh eye been more needed than it is today. Call upon your network of experts to help you take stock, pivot and build your plan for 2021 and beyond.
